what i was trying to say with my prvious comment that the photo felt like a setting, a background for a late XIX century novel. a sad and long one about a family and a young guy trying to find his luck in a city, where every corner is occupied by shops and small businesses and whatnot, and it's not a happy story, but there is a definite positive feeling to it. uhm. is it any better ?
No, not at all. I think I was thrown by the comment mainly because I didn't quite know how to react to such a cool complement ;)
I see where you came from on this now and very much appreciate the input. As I think I've said before, you always seem to manage to make me look at my photos in a new light, or with new eyes. I really like how a shot I think of as 'nothing special' can light a fire under other people, so it improves my understanding of what I do.....
because frankly, I haven't got a clue what I'm doing...... :)
just go ahead wherever you feel like, or where the voices lead you ;) you know, sometimes i write things. sometimes i just write, out of nowhere, following some strange images and voices. sometimes these works turn out surprisingly good, sometimes crappy as hell...;)
