i was playing with the photo, using my hand over the screen, i covered the sky, then the grass. i found two towns: without the sky: a sunny one, and another one where there is threatening from the sky. i think it must be the sunny grass in the front that takes a lot of the gloom away. i wonder if you played something similar with the mood when you made the photo...

Astonishing! You're completely right. I'd say there was an unconscious effort to produce the effect you describe.
